Last updated: 12 July 2026. ScanArtist.io is a free, client-side QR code generator. This policy explains, in plain language, what data is and isn't handled.

Your QR codes never leave your device

Static QR codes are generated and exported entirely in your browser. The content you type — links, Wi-Fi passwords, contact details, payment information — is used only to draw the code on your device. It is never transmitted to or stored on our servers. There is no middleman URL, so your codes cannot be switched off or held hostage.

No account, no tracking cookies

You do not need to sign up to generate or export codes, so we hold no account or profile data. We do not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Your styling preferences are stored only in your browser's local storage (so the tool remembers your last look); the content of your codes is never remembered.

Analytics

ScanArtist.io does not run third-party ad or tracking scripts. If we introduce usage analytics to help improve the app, they will be anonymous and cookieless, contain no personal data and none of your QR content, and count only aggregate signals such as page views and which features are used. This section will be updated before any such collection begins.

Third-party services

Fonts are self-hosted, so no font CDN sees your visits. The optional "Buy me a Coffee" link takes you to Buy Me a Coffee's own site, governed by their privacy policy — you only go there if you choose to. The site is served over HTTPS via a content delivery network, which processes standard request metadata (such as IP address and user-agent) to deliver pages and protect against abuse; these logs are not used to profile you.

Your rights

Because static generation collects no personal data, there is nothing about you for us to access, correct, or delete. If that ever changes (for example with the optional dynamic-code feature on our roadmap), you will be told exactly what is collected, it will be opt-in where required, and you will be able to exercise your GDPR rights.
